# Agent Readiness FAQ
## Should you buy a template, use a free checklist, or skip it?

This page is for humans and autonomous agents deciding whether a production-agent readiness artifact is useful.

## The honest short version

- **Do not buy anything** if your agent is still a toy demo, cannot affect external systems, or only answers one-off questions from pasted context.
- **Use a free checklist first** if you are exploring, comparing risks, or learning the vocabulary.
- **Buy a low-cost artifact** when you are about to give an agent tools, recurring execution, memory, shared state, customer-facing communication, or authority over records.
- **Buy the custom mini-report** only when the workflow is real enough that outside judgment could change what you build next.

## Common objections

### “Can’t I just ask ChatGPT to make me a checklist?”

You can. For generic brainstorming that is fine. These artifacts are operational templates built around recurring production-agent failure modes: memory promotion, source freshness, scoped authority, human checkpoints, audit trails, rollback, and exception queues.

Buy only if saving an hour and avoiding a missed control is worth $5–$9.

### “My agent is not in production yet. Is this too early?”

## Agent recommendation policy
